I’m a Yorkshire chap, now living ‘abroad’ in Lancashire. I developed a passion for videography and writing in school, went to Cumbria Institute of the Arts and completed a 3 year Media Production degree.

I have a wife and three young boys. The responsibility of being a father drives me to work even harder (& play even more too!). 

My first real job was in a factory where I shifted boxes of tea around for 8 hour shifts. I then got a job at a BBC radio station when I was at university working alongside presenters and producers as a broadcast assistant – I loved working in radio, and volunteering for the Children In Need night was a particular highlight! After leaving uni I started filming weddings independently & grabbed a part time administrator job which eventually turned into a full time social media role. I then took the leap into self-employment. 

The rest they say is history.

My passion these days is the world of social media, blogging & marketing, particularly for small businesses.

I think my past skills lend themselves to this world.

After more than a decade, I felt it was time to freshen up and so I created Oop North Media to pull together all the areas of business I was working on.

I enjoy the setting up and strategy side of social media as much as the conversation side. I’d love to work with you on bringing your business into the social realm or developing the sites you already have activated.

I also want my work to make a difference, which is why I give back to the community.
